When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  Eph. 3:14-19 (NLT)

We heard a message yesterday from Philippians 2. The focus was how deep friendships can create incredible joy. The pastor mentioned one of the keys to abiding friendships is having an earnest desire to serve one another.

I got to thinking of ways that friends can serve each other. Truthfully, the methods are only limited by our own imaginations!

If you’re like me, and have friends (and family) who live far away, one of the best ways to serve them is to pray for them.

This passage is a wonderful prayer to lift up for the people in your life.

What is one way you have found to serve a friend?

This is such a great post. I try to make the effort to send my friends a link to something they may find interesting, email or call them periodically.

It’s easy to lose track of friends in the hustle and bustle, but it is so important to maintain those connections.

I really appreciated your prayers for my family this week. I can not tell you how much that meant to me!

I was very happy to pray for you guys!

You’re right–it is easy to put aside those connections for the every day ins and outs. I’m glad for some of the technology that allows us to stay connected!
