Thankful Thursday

It’s been a rough week. One of those weeks where you wonder, “Are there things to be thankful for this week?”

But I’m sure there are–there must be! So I shall sally forth, or soldier-on, or forge-ahead, or whatever idiom you might come up with.

Today I am thankful for:

>The flexibility that comes with our homeschool. I cannot tell you how consistently grateful I am for the ability to work school around life.

>A great run of Peter Pan shows. And I’m so sorry I have no pictures. Bad theater mom! But, the show was so good, and I was so very proud of my Indian dancer.

>The clean bill of health my mom received. She had a series of routine checks because of insurance stuff, and there were no major concerns.

>The patient wisdom of my counselor husband. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve been especially grateful for it this week.

>The fact that our septic system waited until after Ron got home before it backed up. ‘Nuff said.

>After missing almost an entire week of HelloMornings, I now completely realize how much I need that time in the morning. It’s a proven, irrefutable fact.

>The cold that attacked my youngest earlier in the week did not stick around. Fortunately, it was not a really bad one either.

>(Hopefully) Blog readers who stick around even when I only post once a week. With everything else going on, I just could not even summon the energy.

>Letting my students talk me into spending part of our school day at Panera Bread. It was a nice change of scenery.

>Learning that takes place, in my own heart, through rough weeks. I don’t know that I could honestly say I’m THANKFUL for weeks like this, but I do know that God can use them to show me things about myself and teach me to trust.

I hope you can find things, large and small, to be thankful for today. AND, if you have a thankfulness post you want to share, please link it up!

I’m so sorry friend – and I’m sorry that I didn’t reach out to see where you where when I missed you this week. {{hugs}} Praying that today is a good day, and that tomorrow is even better.

Thank you. I pulled away from quite a few things this week–not really on purpose–but knowing that you all were still around was somehow comforting. I’m so grateful for you!

Your words are inspiring, thanks for expressing the realness in this post. I find it difficult sometimes to express that, but I do try. Some weeks are so difficult, mine was too this week. But I really love this link up because even on some of the worst weeks for me, I have learned that there ARE things to be grateful for. I think I always new that- but writing about it makes me think harder and take the time to reflect on it. I really like that. Thanks for hosting and taking this over.

It really is a good discipline to specifically look for and reflect on those things we can be thankful for–even on those “worst weeks.” I thank God for you this week and your encouraging words.

I am so sorry! Your post was wonderful, showing us all that there is always much to be grateful for, even amidst the trials that life threw your way. I am so glad that the play went well. What a proud moment for you! :-) I am praying that things are getting better for you. A local girl was killed yesterday and it affected me profoundly. I didn’t even know her or her family, but as a mom, I have been so very saddened. I wrote about it today. I hope you have a good weekend, friend, and, of course, we are all here, no matter how many times a week you post! :-) Many blessings, Lisa http://our4kiddos.blogspot.com

I too appreciate the flexibility of homeschool. We are on vacation right now and able to keep up with school work:) Homeschooling can be done anywhere! Enjoyed reading your list!

What an awesome list. I too love the flexibility of homeschooling. Also isn’t wonderful to know that even if you need to pull away from blogging for a bit that you have some wonderful ‘friends’ that don’t mind in the least. Your family is so much more important. I am thankful that you were able to spend the time with them when you were so needed.
I love the change in home school scenery as well. :)

I thank God for the flexibility of homeschooling just about every day. But sometimes I wonder if I’m being too flexible. Hoping that life doesn’t intervene too much and we get school done tomorrow.
